1941 Willys Coupe – Jay Leno’s Garage
This classic California Hot Rod – 1941 Willys Coupe obviously isn’t stock. The name ‘Willys’ comes from the brand name Willys-Overland Motors. Back in 1908 John Willys bought the Overland Automotive Company and used the name combined with his own last name. This American automobile company is best known from the production of military Jeeps – MBs, and it was the second larger automobile producer after Ford Motor Company from 1912 to 1918.
This particular 1941 Willys Coupe is powered by Big-Block Chevy producing about 1000 horsepower. It’s normally aspirated with one carburetor and it runs a quarter mile in a nine second range. The transmission is manual-race 3-speed Turbo 350.
