When it comes to cars built by the Ford Motor Company, the Lincoln brand was the high-line luxury car, Mercury was somewhere in the middle and Ford was more designed to be an everyman car. Mercury had a number of models that were basically the same as the Ford ‘brothers’, but with more luxurious items, little more quiet etc. And that was the case with the Cougar.
