1970 Ford Torino Cobra 429 SCJ
The Ford Torino has got entirely new design for the 1970 model year. This car has always had kind of aggressive look, especially this model year where the rear window is almost flat with the back of the vehicle. A really speedy looking design that came from a supersonic aircraft – blackbird, where the nose is wider than the tail. As we know the Ford Torino is a mid-size car, it is a bigger and heavier than the Mustang and can certainly keep up with it.
One special detail is the cool looking functional shaker hood scoop coming through the flat black hood. Powerful machine under the hood, Ford 429 cubic-inch Super Cobra Jet V8 engine, sometimes confusing that not sharing anything with the 428, but it’s a ‘younger brother’ of the 460. This engine produces 375 horsepower and 450 ft-lb of torque. The transmission of this car is automatic.
