1970 Plymouth Barracuda – “Blue Fire”
Some muscle cars look cool and there are some others that make you just say ‘wow’, and this 1970 Plymouth Barracuda is definitely a ‘wow’ car. The E-body platform was all new for 1970, it is longer and wider from the previous platforms. In fact, this is a very rare AAR ‘Cuda because there were produced only 2760 of these vehicles. The cool thing about this car is the fact that it’s a street version of the Trans Am road race cars, built to compete with the Trans Am.
Under the hood there is a strong Chrysler’s 340 cubic-inch, 5.6 liter V8 machine creating about 290 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque, with a three 2-barrel Six Pack induction system. The transmission is a four-speed manual, making this ‘Cuda a lot of fun on the street. Perhaps the most striking feature of this car is the color, the code is EB5 but it’s known as a ‘Blue Fire‘.
