1989 Pontiac Firebird Turbo Trans Am 20th Anniversary Indy 500 Pace Car

Every American muscle car manufacturer had their Indianapolis 500 Pace Car, but in the 1989 for the 73rd Indy 500 race series Pontiac had made their Firebird Turbo Trans Am 20th Anniversary Indy 500 Pace Car. This Firebird is one of the 1555 examples ever build by General Motors and as you can see this is all original example.

This 1989 Pontiac Firebird Turbo Trans-Am 20th Anniversary Indy 500 Pace Car is powered by GM’s 231 cubic-inch or 3.8 liter turbocharged Small Block V6 engine which was used in the Buick GNX. The engine was factory rated at 250 horsepower and 340 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is attached by Turbo-Hydramatic 200-4R 4-speed automatic transmission system, while the performance are: from 0 to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds and top speed of 162 mph.
