2000 Horsepower Furious 7 Charger – The MAXIMUS
This week we are starting with this ultimate custom build of the most badass looking 1968 Dodge Charger, which has appeared in the end scene of Furious 7 movie. This ’68 Charger project is built by Nelson Racing Engines, which they had named this 1968 Dodge Charger the “MAXIMUS”, because of his 2000 horsepower under the hood.
Tom Nelson, the man who runs this project explains that they have spent more than 2,000 hours on bodywork to make this Charger what he is today. The body is six inches wider with beautifully satin brushed metal finish. The fully customized interior is equipped with roll bars and has the color which match the exterior.
This 1968 Dodge Charger MAXIMUS is powered by all aluminum 572 cubic inch or 9.4 liter V8 HEMI engine boosted with the Nelson twin turbocharger system. This monstrous engine breathes thru custom Alien intake manifold featuring 16 fuel injectors, two per cylinder. This ultimate Powertrain is capable of generating more than 2000 horsepower. The braking system is made by Wilwood with 6-piston calipers on each wheel, while the custom solid satin brushed Billet wheels are equipped with Mickey Thompson tires.
