2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z28.R – Cold Blood Racer
We all know that the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is the best factory track ready American muscle car you can buy. But the difference between the stock and professional racing model is huge. The Mantella Autosport team had transformed the stock Camaro Z/28 in the professional racer Z/28.R which competes in the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series.
Well, let’s see what is different about this Z/28.R Camaro. First, all unnecessary things have been removed and have been installed Racetech bucket seats with racing safety belts, roll cage and other racing equipment. Under the hood there is stock Chevrolet 427 cubic-inch or 7.0 liter LS7 Small Block V8 engine, factory rated at 505 horsepower.
But surprisingly the engine revs lower because of the IMSA regulations. Stock Tremec TR-6060 transmission system with small modification by Tranzilla spins the rear wheels equipped with Continental slicks racing tires. For better cornering there are Penske Shocks, while the high performance braking system is made by Alcon.
