The 2016 Ford Mustang GT, 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS and the 2016 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 392 HEMI Shaker, competing each other in 1/4 mile acceleration test. But before final results, let’s see their factory specification. We are starting with 2016 Ford Mustang GT, which is equipped with Ford’s 302 cubic-inch or 5.0 liter small-block Coyote V8 engine, factory rated at 435 horsepower and 400 lb. -ft. of torque.

The second competitor is the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS powered by General Motors 376 cubic-inch or 6.2 liter LT1 small-block V8 engine, rated at 455 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. And the third competitor, the 2016 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 392 HEMI Shaker is powered by Chrysler’s 392 cubic inch or 6.4 liter small-block HEMI V8 engine, factory rated at 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque.

Technically the Challenger is the most powerful and normally should take the first place, but the results at the 1/4 mile Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park race track are different. Third place goes to the Mustang with a time of 13.2 seconds in 1/4 mile, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and a speed of 111.3 mph. The second place belongs to the Challenger with 1/4 mile time of 12.9 seconds, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and a speed of 111.6 mph. The winner of this competition is the Camaro with 1/4 mile time of 12.3 seconds, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds and a speed of 114.3 mph.
