65 GTO on a Lonely Desert Highway – 100+ Mph
Mike Brewer and Edd China claim that they have built the best 1965 Pontiac GTO ever, so they’ve decided to test it under the desert sun at 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius). They’ve made a pretty nice video that you can check out bellow, they are enjoying making this test obviously. However, it is a big pleasure when your classic project hits 100+ miles per hour (over 161 km/h).
The 65 GTO is a part of the first generation of Pontiac GTOs. There were only two engine options for this first generation – 389 cubic inch / 6.4 liter V8 motor and 400 cubic inch / 6.6 liter V8 machine. The transmission options were 3-speed / 4-speed manual and 2-speed / 3-speed automatic. The whole first gen is based on a A-body platform.
