1959 Chevrolet Biscayne Duntov V8 Patrol Car
Very unique and quite rare 1959 Chevrolet Biscayne. It’s 1 of 40 police pursuit cars designed and built by Zora Arkus Duntov. Painted in a beautiful deep blue metallic paint combined with some blue and gray vinyl interior. Speaking about drive-ability, Biscaynes are very simple. Manual steering and manual brakes defines this classic vehicle. After the Delray model, Biscayne takes the place for the lowest-price full-size vehicle produced by Chevrolet back in 1958.
The standard transmission on the Chevrolet Biscayne was a 3-speed manual otherwise known as “three on the tree”. On the more expensive models you can also choose between 2-speed automatic or 4-speed manual. This particular model on the video below is a perfect representation of the Biscayne initial performance potential. No one expected a basic model like this, designed for regular transportation, to be capable for huge 135 Mph top speed. That’s because of the 348 cubic inch V8 engine rated at 305 horsepower.
