The Revenge – Hellcat Challenger VS Shelby GT500
Here we have a classic question, who is faster, stock Hellcat Challenger or modified Shelby GT500. As always at the drag strip there are no rules, and often we have seen how less powerful muscle cars can pull better 1/4 mile time. Today we have a battle between the Hellcat and the GT500, which on paper the Challenger is much more powerful than the Mustang.
Before we watch the race, let’s see some facts about these two muscle cars. The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT HEMI Hellcat is powered by Supercharged Chrysler’s 6.2 liter or 370 cubic-inch SRT HEMI Hellcat small-block V8 engine, factory rated at 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque.
On the other side the 2007 Shelby Ford Mustang GT500 is powered by Supercharged Ford’s 5.4 liter or 330 cubic-inch Modular small-block V8 engine. Factory rated at 500 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque. But because this GT500 is modified the engine generates 650 horsepower, which is 57 ponies less than the Hellcat. Enjoy the race!
