Watch This Dodge Challenger Demolishing An European Sports Car
This time we have a battle between a modified 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT against one of the most powerful European sports cars, the 2014 Audi R8 V8. This race is more like a joke for the mighty Challenger, because nobody can beat the American muscle cars on their dragstrips. But nevertheless, let’s first meet their performance.
The 2014 Audi R8 V8 is powered by a naturally aspirated Audi’s 4.2 liter, DOHC V8 engine, factory rated at 430 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. Although this R8 has some modifications, like the engine and exhaust tuning. But the most important the R8 has all-wheel-drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which can ensure an excellent start and traction.
On the other side the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT is powered by a Chrysler’s 6.1 liter, 370 cubic-inch Hemi small-block V8 engine, rated at 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. But this Challenger has an additional 76 mm turbocharged, and a Hoosier drag radials. With these modifications, the Challenger can easily cross 1/4 mile in just 10.35 at a speed of 135 mph.
